The Valpolicella region, entered in the list of candidates for the “best wine region of the year 2009”, award assigned by the prestigious magazine Wine Enthusiast, won the prize among other regions like Champagne (France),  Rhône Valley (France), Russian River Valley (California) e Stellenboch (South Africa).

Very interesting the reasons that led to this important award: Monica Larner, journalist responsible for the European edition of the magazine, says that the Valpolicella was chosen because “it is an area in a tizzy, with a remarkable generation change within the wineries and because the Amarone is a wine that has a great success in the Anglo-Saxon world”.

A wonderful news that confirms once again the importance of our region abroad.
